What is the Best Indoor Rabbit Cage uk available on Amazon? Amazon is a great place to go for all of your pet-care equipment and specialist needs; in this case, rabbit enclosures, specifically indoor rabbit enclosures. In this listicle we’re going to go over some of the best enclosures available on the site, with recommendations based on budget, size, and overall quality! So, without further ado, let’s get into it…
What is the Best Indoor Rabbit cage UK?
Zoozone Habitat (Large)
Kicking off our list, we have one of the most basic enclosures available. The Zoozone is perfect for first time rabbit-owners who aren’t looking to shill out hundreds for a premium enclosure. Its plain blue plastic exterior isn’t much to look at, and the interior isn’t anything to gawk over either. It comes with a water bottle holder and feeding dish; all the essentials.
Unfortunately, since the cage is only 1m x 0.5m, it’s only suitable for dwarf rabbits and infant rabbits (kits). But if you own a dwarf rabbit, and you’re looking to save some space, then the Zoozone should be right up your alley. Finally, it’s worth mentioning the price. At just £59.99, it’s an absolute bargain! If you’re looking for a rabbit cage on a budget, then the Zoozone might be what you were looking for. Remember that it’s not really big enough for a permenant indoor rabbit cage for an adult rabbit.
- Includes a water bottle holder
- Maximum living space
- Compartment feeding dish
The Zoozone can be found here.
AmazonBasics Jumbo Animal Cage
Next on our list is one of Amazon’s own-brand products: their Jumbo Animal Cage. This cage is a great mid-grade product. It’s larger size (1.24m x 0.67m x 0.5m) makes it perfect for rabbits of any shape and size. The AmazonBasics cage comes with a lot nifty features included in its price tag, which sits at a mere £65.50!
The cage comes fitted with a non-drip water bottle, hay guard, and balcony with access ramp and tip-proof food dish, as well as hide-away space underneath the balcony, allowing for your rabbit to enjoy a little privacy while resting.
Its tough polypropylene base and iron mesh cage make it durable and secure, and certainly resistant to a bit of biting and scratching!
All-in-all, the AmazonBasics enclosure is perfect for those who aren’t looking for anything too flashy, while still maintaining a nice array of convenient features. It’s also amazing for its low price tag!
- Jumbo small-animal habitat for pet rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, or chinchillas
- Iron wire upper frame and PP plastic base; large top and front openings for easy inside access
- Includes non-drip water bottle, hay guard, and balcony with access ramp and tip-proof food dish
Ferplast CASITA 120 (X-Large)
Ferplast is an excellent manufacturer of several contenders for the Best Indoor Rabbit cage. The Ferplast CASITA 120 is the perfect middle ground between a budget cage and a high-quality enclosure. It’s design and build quality is great considering its price is quote low compared to other builds of its kind.
Measuring at 1.19m x 0.61m x 0.58m, it’s a convenient size for any room, and can be comfortably occupied by most sizes of rabbit. Even though the CASITA’s base is made completely of thermoplastic resin, and given that it only weighs 6.3kg, it still looks and feels stable enough to handle your little energetic, furry friend.
The CASITA comes with all the essential plus a few extra features such as a sliding door with a convenient safety-locking system, feeder for hay, drinking bottle and plastic bowl, as well as a cute little rabbit house.
One stand-out feature of the CASITA is its unique rounded cage roof, which allows for even more space for your rabbits, while adding to an already awesome looking design. And better yet, the rounded roof is completely liftable, allowing you to access the interior without having to even open the main gate! The roof is kept tight and secured by a clip locking system which is attached to an additional plastic frame that lines the perimeter of the cage.
- Spacious habitat for rabbits and guinea pigs, made of varnished metallic wire net with thermoplastic resin base
- The cage has a rounded roof designed to ensure more space for the animal, completely liftable to access the interior and divided in two parts
- Plastic upper frame equipped with locking clip
This is probably the most well rounded of all the enclosures on this list, as you can get all of this… for just £74! For a price that good you’d be insane not to snatch this one up.
Ferplast KROLIC 140 Plus
For the next level up from the Ferplast CASITA model, you’re most likely looking at getting the KROLIC 140. Although not too much bigger than both the AmazonBasics cage and the CASITA, the KROLIC is certainly an upgrade when it comes to build quality and almost everything else about the cage.
- Large rabbit and guinea pig habitat, patented save-space design, easy to assemble
- Thermoplastic resin bottom with a special flared shape to offer more living space to your animals, wire made of sturdy varnished metal
- House-nest made of separate wood
Firstly, the KROLIC 140 is much sturdier and heavier. Its extra-durable thermoplastic resin bottom makes the cage’s base nice and stable, with a special flared shape to offer more living space to your animals. Its wire is made of sturdy varnished metal, which will take years upon years to wear away from just nibbling and scratching. It also has a separate wooden house-nest. This combination of materials comes together to form an incredibly well-built enclosure.
As for its interior, the KROLIC 140 comes fitted with a feeding compartment, detachable drinking bottle, bowl, and the previously mentioned house-nest. The house nest can be accessed from above, allowing you to remove your pets from within it, without having to open the main gate. However, due to the entrance of the house-nest being quite narrow, unless you have kits living in your cage, your rabbits won’t be able to access the house nest anyway.
Finally let’s go over the price. The KROLIC 140 costs just under £138. This price is fair given its outstanding built quality but might seem a bit steep if you’re looking at it from a size and features perspective. The KROLIC 140 doesn’t have much advantage, in that respect, over the AmazonBasics enclosure, yet it is over £70 more expensive! It’s clear to see that you’re paying for the enclosure’s quality of materials and overall design.
Ferplast KROLIC 160
As the name implies, the KROLIC 160 is the next level up from the KROLIC 140. You may be wondering, “What are the added benefits of the 160 compared to the 140?”. Well, let’s take a look…
- Large rabbit habitat ideal also for guinea pigs, patent save-space design
- Thermplastic resin base with a special flared shape to offer more living space for your pets, wire net made of sturdy varnished metal
- Sold with a useful extension to allow the pet to build his own nest, including a grill to separate the main cage from the additional extension.
First of all, the 160 is, of course, larger. The 160 in its name derives from the size of the cage, which comes in at 1.6m x 0.6m x 0.5m; only 20 cm longer than the 140 model. This added size, while it may not sound like a lot on paper, that extra 20cm will be gladly appreciated by your pet, who will have a lot more room to run about in.
A lot of the 160’s features are similar to the 140’s, yet this time, the 160 comes with two feeders and drinking bottles, instead of just the singular ones of the 140. The 160 is clearly trying to promote the fact that it can accommodate more than one bunny. One feature it has away with, is the wooden house-nest, which is instead replaced by an extension to allow the pet to build his own nest, including a grill to separate the main cage from the additional extension.
Now how do the prices of the two enclosures compare. Well, the 160 comes in at a hefty £174, almost £40 more than the 140. Is the increased price worth it? Almost certainly. For the amount of extra space your rabbits will get, and with double the amount of feeding options, which is perfect for owners with more than one rabbit, the 160 is a worthwhile upgrade.
MidWest Critter Nation Habitat (Two Storey)
Completing out listicle, we have the most extravagant (but also most expensive) enclosure on our list: the MidWest Critter Nation Habitat.
- Full Width Double Doors Provide Maximum Accessibility for Easy Cleaning & Feeding
- 1/2 " Horizontal Wire Spacing Allows Pets to Fulfill Their Instinct to Climb & Explore in Secure Environment
- Wide Expanse Shelf & Full Width Plastic Pan Floor to Provide Maximum Play Area & Prevent Dangerous Falls
The Critter Nation Habitat is one enormous enclosure. The cage itself is two storeys of fun, comprised of tough plastic and a wire mesh. It measures 0.91m x 0.61m x 1.60m, meaning it might be more suitable in a large living room rather than a bedroom. The Critter Nation Habitat can be purchased with a support stand so it can be placed up against a wall like a wardrobe or bookcase. Yet this does mean that the enclosure weighs quite a bit, coming in at just over 48kg.
The cage has easily removable height adjustable shelves, allowing you to change the interior of your cage so that it’s best suited for your pet. It also has removable plastic trays, making the cleaning process so much easier, as well as full open and removable doors, critter-proof door latches.
Unfortunately, the Critter Nation Habitat doesn’t come with any feature such as feeders or water bottles included; these will have to be bought separately. What you’re really paying for with this product, is the size and quality of the build. It’s certainly the most well-built and professional looking enclosure on our list. But all of this comes at a price. A price of £399.99. Now that’s quite a lot of money, especially for a model that doesn’t even come with a feeder or any additional accessories. Ultimately, it’s up to you whether or not you think the size is worth the money.
What Enclosure is Best?
Unfortunately, there’s not really a right or wrong answer to this question; it’s dependent on what size you’re looking for, your budget, what accessories you want, etc. However, when it comes to the most well-rounded cage, the Ferplast CASITA 120 is certainly a contender for the number one spot!
